Scotland West and North - Ayrshire and Northern Highlands

Day 1 – Saturday – Depart USA

Gailes Restaurant/HotelDay 2 – Sunday - Arrive Scotland where you will be met by our Scotland representative who will help you pick up your self-drive van, give you directions, send you on your way and be available to you throughout you trip. Overnight for the next three nights at the Gailes Restaurant and Hotel where you can be assured of a Warmer Welcome when you arrive to the Gailes Hotel and Restaurant, their friendly staff are renowned for their exception service and friendly manner. With the quiet, peaceful surroundings and fantastic views over some of Scotlands finest golf courses and towards the Isle of Arran, you can always be sure of a relaxing stay at The Gailes.

Kilmarnock Golf ClubDay 3 – Monday - Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club is to be found on the outskirts of Troon on Scotland's west coast and has been offering the golfer a magnificent links golf challenge for over one hundred years. The course is challenging, but is typically what Scottish Links golf is about - large undulating greens, deep bunkers and doglegs. The course has generated some excellent publicity in recent years having been host for the British Amateur Championships.

Dundonald LinksDay 4 – Tuesday - Dundonald Links near Troon might be a product of the 21st century but it looks as if it has been there for years. Scotland is renowned for its rich reservoir of links courses but there is no doubt the new Dundonald Links in Ayrshire deserves to be ranked right up there alongside the very best of them. The course was opened as recently as 2003 but already it has been recognised as one of the best new courses in the 2004 Robb Report and only last year was invited to host the prestigious Duke of York Young Champions Trophy.

Western Gailes Golf ClubDay 5 – Wednesday - Western Gailes Golf Club, founded in 1897, is situated on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland where many of the finest Scottish golf links are located and is only 4 miles from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. It is recognized as one of the finest and true links courses in Scotland measuring 6899 yards from the championship tees. The course has played host to the Curtis Cup, PGA Championship, Seniors and prestigious Scottish Amateur Championship. It is also one of the final qualifying courses when The Open is played at Turnberry or Royal Troon. After golf you drive north to Tain, located about 45 minutes north of Inverness and check into the Mansfield Castle in Tain for the next four nights. Mansfield Castle is an imposing Victorian building set in 3.5 acres of picturesque countryside, with award winning cuisine and magnificent oak paneling throughout. The Castle is located in the Royal Burgh of Tain.

Tain Golf ClubDay 6 – Thursday - Tain Golf Club Championship links course enjoys spectacular views over mountains and sea and benefits from a sheltered climate, which allows favorable golfing conditions for most of the year. The 3rd hole is rated as one of the best 18 links holes in Scotland and the 17th acknowledged as one of the top 18 holes designed by Old Tom Morris, we believe that Tain offers one of the finest settings and challenges for a round of golf.

Royal Dornoch Golf CourseDay 7 – Friday - Formed in 1877, Royal Dornoch has been a Royal club for over 100 years! A Royal title means exceptional standards and they always aim to exceed the expectations of their frequent visitors and loyal members. However, their aim is to do this in a relaxed, informal environment, with an emphasis on traditional highland hospitality.

Brora Golf CourseDay 8 – Saturday - The Highlands’ most famous “greens keepers” can be found at Brora Golf Club, the sheep that roam the course. Brora is links golf as it was meant to be, “the purest links golf course in the world,” according to Honorary Member and 5-time Open Champion Peter Thomson, and we wouldn’t dare disagree with him. The setting is both remote and magnificent, one of the world’s most northerly links, a sweeping expanse of unspoiled links land along the North Sea. Designed by James Braid, the course is completely unaltered from its original state, a time capsule of sorts that captures the spirit and challenge of the game a century ago. Brora never fails to delight and we rank it right at the top in terms of pure enjoyment. Don’t underestimate the challenge however; its charm notwithstanding, the layout is superb. No visit to the Scottish Highlands is complete without a day at Brora, an experience you will never forget!
